Getting Started

How do I register?

To register you need to go to the homepage and push the “register” button, which can be found between the “Browse” and “My Account” buttons.  It is now that you need to decide on your username.  This name will be visible on your listings, and can be name you like apart from inappropriate names such as names containing swear words.  You will also need to enter a password that you will remember.  Please keep this in a safe place, treat it like you would a pin number on a bank account and do not share your information with anybody else.  You will also be asked to enter other personal information, such as your name, address, phone number, email address.  You will see which details are mandatory as they have a “required” next to them.  Once you have completed your information, please push the “register” button, which you will find at the bottom of the page.  You will then be asked to verify your account.

What is verifying and why am I asked to do it?

You need to verify your account for security purposes.  We need to ensure that the email address given is correct.  If it were not, you would not be informed when somebody was to purchase your goods.  Once you have registered an email will be sent to your nominated account with a verification code.  You need to visit our homepage and at the top right push the “verify account” and enter your email address, password and the verification code supplied to you.  Push the verity button at the bottom of the page to complete verification.  You are now free to buy or sell on the site.

I haven’t received my verification email- what should I do?

Your verification email should arrive instantly after you have registered.  If it has not arrived, please check your junk email box, and if necessary set the email address to safe to ensure future emails come into your safe box.  If you still have not received please email us at sales@equiauctions.co.uk

I am having problems verifying, what should I do?

Please ensure that you are entering your email address, and not your username.  Please cut and paste the verification email into the space provided, so that you are certain to get it right.  If this still does not work for you please contact us on auction@equiauctions.co.uk and we will advise further.  Please note that the maximum letters/numbers your password can be is 10, therefore if you entered your password as tackworld 2007, it would only accept the first 10.  When you return to verify your account or login at a later date you would need to enter tackworld2 as your password, as that is what would be on file.

I have verified, know how do I sign in to Equiauctions?

On the top right hand side of the homepage you will see “Sign in”.  Please click there and you will be taken to a page where you are required to enter your username and password.  Then push the sign in button.

Selling

How do I list my items for sale?

Sign in to your account.  Push the “sell” button which is located between “Stores” and “My Account”.  The first choice you need to make is the category.  Choose the category most suited to your item by pushing the up and down arrows.  Depending on the category chosen, there may be sub-categories you also need to choose by following the prompts.   Now you need to select the type of sale.  When selling the 2 options are: 1) auction- whereby you put a reserve on the item and let members bid above that amount.  The highest bidder wins the auction.  2) Fixed sale price whereby you state the amount you require to sell the item.  Follow the prompts to enter information about your item, including, title, description, payment instructions, shipping cost and push next.  You now need to choose the listing duration (in days) and options to automatically re-list if your item does not sell.  You may choose whether you would like a hit counter on your listing, so you may see how many people have viewed your listing.  It is now that you can choose whether you would like to upgrade your listing.  There are options which have the costs next to them such as making your listing highlighted, enabling it to stand out.  It is not compulsory to upgrade.  Upload your image if you have one and push “confirm” at the bottom of the page. The next page will give you an overview of your listing.  Check all details are correct and push “post item”.  If the details are not correct and you need to adjust push the “back button.

How do I upload a photo to show in my listing?

Follow the instructions above to list your item.  After choosing any upgrade options you will see an option that says “upload base image”, push the “browse” button to browse through your computer to find the image you want.  Highlight the image you require and push “open”, whereby you will see that the image name is now showing in the upload box.  Continue with your listing, you will see on the next page that your chosen image now appears.  If your image is to large it may not upload.

How many listings am I allowed with each listing?

6 images are free with your listing. Additional images are charged at .1p each.

How long will my listing show for?

You may select either 7, 10, 21, or 30 days for your listing to run for during the listing process.

What if I want to advertise my listing elsewhere as well as Equiauctions?

You are permitted to advertise your listing elsewhere, as long as that is noted in your listing.  e.g.  I have reserve the right to end this listing early as it is also advertised elsewhere

My listing is on “Auto Relist”- Im concerned that it will re-list after it has sold.

Rest assured that it will only re-list if the item has been unsuccessful (not sold) by selecting this free option, it saves time by re-listing the item, and keeping it on the market if it doesn’t sell the first time.

What is the difference between selling at auction and a fixed price option?

When you choose the action option, you must specify a starting price that you want the bidding to start from.  You also have the option to state a reserve price.  A reserve price is the amount that the bidding must reach before you are willing to sell the item.  An auction is where the members bid against one another to increase the price that the goods sell for.

A fixed price sale is a buy now price.  You state the price that you require for the item and the members can buy at any time, without having to wait or he action to finish.

How and when should I pay my fees on Equiauctions?

At the beginning of the month you will receive an email invoice outlining your fees (if you should have any!) over the previous month.  These fees must be paid within 7 days via bank deposit, Paypal or credit card.  Further details on how to pay are contained within your invoice

I cannot see my listing?

Search in the category that you chose for your item.  If you cannot see the listing, please then go to your account area.  You will find that area at the top of the page where it says “my account” on the right hand of that page your will see a sub-heading called listings.  Within that column click on the “active”, all of your listings that are currently live on the site will be listed there.  If it is not listed there has been an error posting your item.  The most common reason why an ad will not show is that the ad has not only been confirmed, but not posted.  Please re-list and follow the process to the end ensuring that you push the post button.  If you are still having problems, please email auction@equiauctions.co.uk

I have been asked a question regarding my listing, where do I reply to the question?
